Thanks for taking the time to respond to my "disabling" issue.
I was trying to disable 1 page at a time instead of all at once.
After reading your post i was successful on the first try and I appreciate not having to cycle through unneeded pages to view the EGT and CHT pages.
Do you mind sharing how you would configure your main page for a 582.
I am curious if there is a custom configuration that would be better than what I am currently using.
    Thanks again

  3. akflyer added a post in a topic To the Apple fanboys: how you liking your iOS 7 upgrade?

I have not done the update yet, but the wife seems to love it.  I have read some stuff online (so it has to be true right) that it kills the battery life.  You can turn a bunch of the features off to get your battery life back, but then it kills the "reasons" for the upgrade so you can run everything on the phone at once and really slow it down   I am not going to upgrade mine until I play with the wife's.. ummm phone, yeah, till I play with her phone when I get home and see if I like it!

Very poor response by the Mod given this was an existing member with no history of abuse. IMHO, the Mod should have locked the member account and then posted a forum message 1.) warning other members of potential spam and not to click on the link, and 2.) detailing what specific steps the member need take to get his account unlocked. Of course, removing the questionable post/thread or disabling the link are advisable.

The first guy to jump on the post has done it before. No patience and, it would appear, no real world understanding of computer technology or the potential risks of using one connected to the Internet. I wonder if he is the kind of person who believes everything he sees or hears on the Internet or takes as fact the crap being spoon fed by network media? Be curious to know what firewall and anti-virus protections he uses, probably a good chance he lives in a glass house and his turn will come someday too...

I have also heard of using that technique Bob. The guys on there seemed totally convinced that the message was legitimate. There was no doubt in my mind it was SPAM after I read the first sentence. The mod should of just deleted it and moved on. When I got a hold of Herman he said several people had already told him about it. Funny how one email caused such a stir......

I have a couple of nose-gear setups from those Lake Hood TriPacers - seems like they don't ever take the floats off of them there - nose gear not much use to them on the water! They fit a Maule just fine - wonder why! Ha!EDMO

No.  The crankshaft on my Yellow plane is such that only the 22mm (narrow) gears will fit.  The gear set in the Mangy Fox is the newer design 27mm (wide).

Good link.  Lots of good information there.

The reason for replacing the parts is when I did the disc spring replacement I noticed wear in the form of spauling on the drive dogs.  In my opinion it was very minimal and the consensus of my group was to put it back together and run her.  Well the vibration was just as bad after the "repair" so I did some further investigation.

Speaking directly with John McBean he noted the need to modify the engine mounts per SA 53A (?) but he also related a story about a gear set problem like what I am having.

  15. Av8r3400 added a post in a topic engine controls

I don't remember who the manufacturer of the control is (not Bosch).  When first introduced, there was only one compatible monitor devise.  Now I believe just about everyone makes a compatible monitor.

I do not believe there to be an "OBDII" plug or anything of that type direct to the control.  Data is collected and can be retrieved from the monitor devise.

    engine controls
Does anyone know what the engines with the electronic fuel injection use to control the injectors? I am more interested in the controller and if it is like the obd2 ecm/pcm  in the cars 96 and up there is a bluetooth adapter that will plug into the obd2 port of the pcm and it will show you what your engine is doing on a android tablet do a search for a program called torque for android
    thanks Bob

I saw the post about Herman and I don't know Herman but I am sure that he got hacked..... I have been hacked 2 times in the past few years and I have an account on yahoo the last time I got hacked it was someone in china that got me. one way you can tell you have been hacked is go to your email contact list and insert a new contact like aaaaa@yahoo.com and make sure that it is the first contact in the list when someone hacks your email account it will start with the aaaaa@yahoo.com email of course this is not a valid email address so it will be returned as not delivered to your email so when you see this you will know that you have been hacked.......

Can't just swap the whole gearbox rather than just the gear set and dogs?

Now I got to look to see which gear set I have. http://www.conairsports.co.uk/4-stroke%20gearbox.html

Flew in Don Lee's PA-20 a few years ago, real nice flying airplane. Like he said, the PA-20 is a great airplane to give dual in. Much better priced than a SuperCub. Side by side seating is much better also.

The gear set and dog hub.  I believe this is a function of that heavy-assed Warp Drive prop...

In a 912 there are two types of gears, 22mm and 27mm wide.  My yellow plane has the 22mm set and the Mangy has the 27mm.  As luck would have it, a 27mm set can be replaced with a 22, but not the other way.

Larry you could always swap in a 582     Just kidding. At least you guys are not having issues while in the air! Please continue to keep your 912 threads updated. I would like to get some more 912 tech data on the site and I think you guys are pretty much our only contributors to that area.

Yes the tailwheel would break free as it is intended. I took the cam of so it wouldn't break free after reading some other posts. I sure like the handling a lot more without it breaking free unexpectedly. The assembly is bolted to the lower spring. And yes I'm looking to upgrade too!

-ouch- I feel a little better now, curious what parts did you have to order?

BTW, I saw your comment about the replacement engine mount rubbers and bushings. I bought them from Kitfox early this year too but, after reading what a PITA it is to swap them out, haven't tackled it yet. This is one of the items on the Rotax 5-year rubber replacement schedule and I suspect you would find some benefit even if it isn't the primary source of your vibration. I've also heard you can flip the donuts over to buy a little more time when you notice uneven compression. Either way, it would keep you busy while you're waiting eh?
