It's still all conjecture anyway. I lean to the historical president, not the rosy view that more government intervention will help this time.

No one but the Obama administration (who wrote it) and the high-ups at the FCC (who are gagged not to talk) know what is in this rule change because it cannot be published until it's adopted.

Remember, "... We need to pass the law to see what's in it..."?

I am leery in the extreme of anything this administration dictates.

Vertical is great way to stitch if you have 2 people - We did the J3 wings that way. We started with leading edge up, went halfway down, and flipped the wing to finish the other half, so we didn't have to bend so much.

There are some plans for a wood rotary fixture with Heavy wall PVC pipe, but right now I don't know where to find it. If you put it on rollers and put sandbags or heavy weights on the bottom, it is even more convenient for flipping the wing and painting, but not necessary. We had a steel rotary fixture.

Well, that's a bit of Fox sensationalism, Mr.

Here's a link to balanced coverage of what's going on with the FCC and Congress at the moment: http://www.politico.com//story/2015/02/reality-check-on-net-neutrality-rhetoric-115460.html

I for one, thinnk the monopolistic ISP's like Comcast and AT&T have too much power and don't represent consumerrs in the least. I'm a believer that they need to be treated like a utility just like my electricity or gas supplier.

Have any of you done rib stitching with the wing vertical, vice flat.  By vertical I mean having the leading edge down and trailing edge up.  Wife nor I can take much bending over so am looking at this as an option.

Also, I would to make a wing rotisery and was thinking maybe PVC pipe inserted into the spars and some PVC T's to make a spin axle in each end (effectively a very stubby PVC pipe fork).  Anyone have working feedback on building one?

Early on but everything points that this piston Malibu was filled with Jet-A by the FBO while the pilot cleared customs. Aviation is very unforgiving to mistakes. The pilot succumbed to his injuries this afternoon. I know this doesn't apply to most of us on this site but thought I would share anyways. Just another reason why I guess that filling my plane from a jug I filled up at the gas station is a good thing. Prayers to the family of the pilot.

Actually I don't mind eating pike from northern Mn. lakes if they have not been frozen. Other wise I don't care for them. Yes, I have been doing some taxidermy work. Gives me a little airplane gas money.

Bill,I don't think it matters much - My Kitfox ones were 1/4 or 3/8 - Guess thicker might be better if it works, but don't see why the thinner wouldn't work, except it wears faster. My book says to finish the fit with a file, as the tube goes thru at an angle - not too loose, or too tight - just a light pressure on tube.EDMO

Hi Ed thanks for the info.

I apologize. I thought Ed in MO was operating this from the goodness of his heart.

I just put my tax refund check in the snail mail.

SS check wasn't LARGE enough....

I will be watching for the check in the mail - Might even share it with AkFlyer, the real hero and owner of this site!

I'm just the old retired fart that writes too much! I crash my computer if I do more than turn it on!

    I think I just broke 3000 posts in 3 years! Nope, just #2999 !!!

Maybe I should change my name and start all over, so I don't get blamed for stupid posts!

Thanks mr! I try to keep it easy to use and open... as in no moderating. I'm still amazed that on a site that brags about not moderating anything, our members have self moderated and I have not had to smack a single member around yet.. but other sites are moderating with a heavy hand. Dang, a good heated argument here every once in awhile would be nice.. keeps the heart pumping and the blood flowing :lmao:

Again guys, thanks for being civil and helping to make this the best site around!

    Hey Leni,

There are several sites I visit that require the external image hosting account. Not only is it a pain, but half the time when you go back to old posts, you find dead images. It's nice that we don't loose images here. Hopefully our contributions will get to the point that we cover those costs for you. I've already gotten a lot of information from this site I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else.

    Thanks again,

    Luke D.

No worries! I do run it out of the goodness of my heart but I'm not Ed.. running it and paying for means something entirely different though  I went for years paying for the site with no contributing members. After several hack attacks, server changes, security adds, etc the costs were getting stupid. I went from 6.95 a year for hosting to several hundred bucks just for the hosting in order to give you guys unlimited uploads etc. Other site keep costs down by having you upload pics to a site like photo bucket, then you link those pics to the site. It's a pain in the ass and I would rather pay the costs to be able to upload and store the pics right to this site. Over the last 2 yrs you guys have stepped up and helped to shoulder those costs. It's appreciated that you guys feel you get enough put of the site to help pay the costs. It also gives you a voice on a direction for the site. If you have any gripes or a list of wants drop me a note!

    Hey guys,

Thanks a lot, that is very much appreciated.  That should pretty much take care of the new update that just came out

Ron...  That was funny right there, I don't care who ya are    It means something different here in AK too.

It means something a WHOLE lot different, as of 2/24/2015!

yes we have Pike here too. This is a 37 inch pike that I mounted. A kid caught it in the same river as I caught the walleyes in.set the meat outside of the shop because it smelled like fish slime. My dog grabbed it and took it over to the neighbors and buried it. The neighbors dam dog dug it up and brought it back.

There have been days that I prayed for 1 mile...

My first trip to the lodge I hit a snow storm and I had to stay in the river bed and keep the trees withing 100' of my wing tip to be able to make them out.  That flight tightened me right up.  To land in the river bed with all the pressure ridges was a 99% chance of ripping the gear off and wrecking the plane, the river was too narrow to turn around in and to climb above the trees was a sure bet of loosing sight of the ground and with no AH in the Avid panel I was not about to try and climb above it.  All I could do at that point was to pull in some flaps, pull back on the power and slow down as much as I could hoping to make my arrival in the trees as slow as possible.  I zoomed in the GPS as tight as it would go and kept heading up river till I got the lodge.  The forecast for that day was clear below 10K and a slight possibility of scattered snow showers... The weather guessers got it way wrong that day!
