Speed wings and bush tires....
I just bought a MkIV with Speed wing and intended to look for HH wings. I want a bush plane, but it looks like your doing all right at 1000FPM? Would you suggest I just run it as is and not hassle with finding a new set of STOL wings?

Avid MkIV HH wings or extensions for my SpeedWing wantedI'm thinking a spare set of HH would would be the easiest route, but I'm open to extensions for my SpeedWings.
Any body have wings laying around on the west coast that they'd like to off? What do you guys suppose the value of a spare set of wings or wing extensions are?

What the going labor rate per hour these days?
Im in SoCal and I'm considering taking the 16 hour Rotax rebuild class at California Power Sytems. I'm wondering how much, if any in the hole I'd be, by dropping my Avid off, and having a shop do the work like you chose to do. Part of me want to learn, but the other part of me wants to ditch the 2 stroke in the future. I dont know how prudent it wiuld be to have the rebuild know how under my belt if I mive away from Rotax 2 strokes.

1) It the STOL performance better than the Rotax 912?
2) How much lighter is this combo than the 912?
3) Im guessing the torq isnt there but the HP is in par.

That thread fell flat.
1) Inquiring minds want to know if the carb cleaning did the trick. Did you get the rough idle worked out?
2). Is the 582 enough power for you? I'm in the same boat, and the price point of a 2 stoke Avid is very appealing. I'm digging deep to find a clean Mark IV.
