  2. If you want to run two fuel pumps, can they be in line? And run one at a time? If one fails will the other pump push through or suck through the other one? Also is it better to push fuel or

pull fuel, what do pumps like? Sounds like push, so maybe mount them down by the day tank behind the seat.

  3. Just what I needed thanks. What is the blue cable?

That is actually a piece of 1/2" pex tubing that acts as a conduit for any wires going back to the tail, as well as something to tie the battery cables to.  Mainly the latter.  JImChuk

    Roger that

  5. Started the plumbing yesterday, and wiring. Does any body put the battery at the tail to help with weight and balance? Or is that to much battery cable? What size cable for a 20 ft run? Can you use the air frame for a ground and not run that cable? I think this engine combo will be similar to a soob in weight. I know I have to build a air box but will see what happens first. I put the oil tank at stock elevation.

  6. More progress. Cut the cowling into 4 pieces, made it 4inches longer and 5inches wider up front. So no bumps or blisters, waiting for fiberglass to dry

  7. Can you mount the stock oil tank 6in lower than the stock elevation?Would the dipstick read correct?

  8. The cowling is mounted in the same holes, no lose on visibility Lost about 4in prop clearance, made up for that with landing gear and soon tundra tires.

  10. Wypaul,

    Where are you located?

I have a 72" 2-blade warp on my Model IV Kitfox, 80hp 912, and I'm only getting 1050 fpm climb at 5500 rpm solo with half fuel, and 90 mph at 5000 rpm. Wondering if the Ivo will do better. Would like to pick it up and put an IFA retrofit, as I hear nothing but good performance from them on a setup likemine.

    Jared in NC

I have a Avid flyer standard wood three blade I think 68in I want to sell , would that work. Never mounted ground adjustable for 582.

  11. Hey Jared,

I am ordering through the Canadian reseller called Vassili    http://www.airtrikes.net/introduction.shtml       as far as I have been able to find out, he buys lugaprops and re-brands them as Koolprop. I don't care and I find it easier this way rather than learn russian or Ukranian and wait a very long time......

My prop, after payment was shipped next day......should be here in about 5 days (canada post still uses donkey's to move across the country)

    Hope this helps

P.s what's the price you were quoted? I got 3 scimitar blades (69in), 2 hubs (2 bladed/3bladed), a spinner assembly and the different accessories including shipping and taxes for 1650 usd

I have not been quoted anything because I cant get a hold of them. I will try your contact, and see how they compare to Yamaha foxs quote. I think he was going to get a 3 blade 79in with extra two blade spinner and hub

  12. Just finished my order with roman at luga here this week via email...  jared maybe resend it to him.

Did they give you a lead time? I have sent multiple e-mails the same one you posted and still have not heard back, maybe I will try my wife's computer, or order two and I will send you money. :lmao:

  13. Whats the story with the Mini Max in the background?

Selling the Minimax 1030r, $4500. Can be seen on craigslist Bellingham  WA

  14. I have the 147.5 main jets in my set up with the air box, I am at 3000 ft alt.here and that seems to be the happy place. I think it all depends on the design of the box as to what you will need, if we get some snow and cold temps I will be hopefully getting in some more testing soon.

What size prop did you go with , and are you happy with it?

  15. Got a little time in yesterday and to dayWIN_20171216_113603.thumb.JPG.a0f8e274d3WIN_20171216_130908.thumb.JPG.80acc3d75cWIN_20171216_130919.thumb.JPG.d2d88dc311WIN_20171216_192244.thumb.JPG.f8664ca738WIN_20171216_192305.thumb.JPG.b840bfcb4fWIN_20171216_201147.thumb.JPG.61e6df2e59

  16. What is the purpose of the day tank ? Why not just tee the tanks together, and use vented fill caps? You would still have gravity feed.

  17. Using my own numbers from my blog (http://avidsimonini.blogspot.fr/2016/01/how-much-oratex-do-i-need.html) :  24 meters of 900 mm wide and 9 meters of 1800 mm wide, all white UL 600, plus 2 liters of glue:

    24 x 49.45 = 1187
    9 x 89.95 = 809
    2 x 77 = 154
    (price as of today https://www.lanitz-aviation.com/entoilage/1)

Adds up to 2150 euros or 2528 $US, this is including 19%VAT but without shipping (you would not pay the 19% but would have to add your applicable VAT and obviously shipping)

You also need a good heat gun and an iron, both with reliable thermostats.

However, it will cost you more than this as you will will be ready much sooner and therefore will fly and burn fuel while the others are still sniffing cheap hardware store thinner...

Fred thanks for the help, I need a lot. Why does it look like in the beginning of you video the trailing edge of your wing is just a wire?

  18. Just received four bids from Oraex, the cheapest option was $3400.:o That was Alaska, guess I will call the main branch over seas to see if I can get a better deal.

  19. Oh and jared, I talked to steve this morning amd he said he is too swamped with stuff right now to consider making us airboxes.

So I guess we are down to the snowmo airbox or a DIY approximation of what he makes.

The stock air box weighs 5lbs. Did you or somebody say to run a 135 main jet for sea level

  20. What prop are you intending to use?  JImChuk
