    WTS: Kitfox IV 1200 (located in Central New Jersey)
    Hey all,
    With great regret, I need to list my Kitfox for sale.  After speaking with a couple of CFII's in my area, to get a PPL in the kitfox will be a challenge/expense that I don't know if I am willing to undertake. So at this point, I need to sell the kitfox to fund a 150.  Or if you know of anyone who is looking to trade a 150 for a kitfox, please send them my way.  once I get the PPL and get hours in the logbook, I will revisit the kitfox world but till then it's going to be a 150 for me.
    The plane is out of annual and is located in Central New Jersey
    Some specs:
    - I have all logs and airworthy cert from the original builder
    -215 TTAF
    - HKS 700e motor (~100 Hrs on the engine and it has 1000 TBO)
    - New Powerfin prop (2 blade)
    - Duel rudder pedals with toe brakes
    -whelen strobes and taxi lights
    -grove main landing gear
    -maule rear
    - landing lights
    - I have all paperwork
    Shoot me some offers (I would like to get into a 150 sooner rather then later )

    You are correct on all counts.  
    -The plane was located in 1F2
    -yes, it's a speedster 
    - yes the build is very good quality.

    The transfer paperwork had a line thru on it which the FAA wasn't happy with so I had to resubmit. FAA is behind on paperwork at the moment so I'm just waiting for a review and website update.
     
    serial number on the engine is 101152
     
    annual was done in 2010 and has been sitting in a hanger ever since

    Got the cover from Bruce but haven't been able to put it on... Hope to do it this weekend. 
     
    Sidenote: has anyone used a galaxy GRS chute before? I have heard good things but wanted to see how you guys felt about them.

    Hi Steve, thanks for the help. If its usual, is there anyway to fix it? I don't want the instruments to knock loose because of taxiing. I need to do some tests on my own as I have yet to see the plane turn overs. 
     
    I spoke with green sky and they were very helpful but I didn't mention the vibration. I was discussing what to do wit the engine since it was sitting in a hanger for 4 years idle.
     
    seems as if these HKS engines are low maintence. I was told was to change the oil, clean the carbs and then hand crack to get some oil flowing, run for an hour and if the compressions are good, go flying.

    Oops, for got to mention that I'm located in NJ. So if you guys know of anyone in the nj Tristate area who deals with kitfox's/ HKS engines and powerfin props. Please let me know as I need to work out a vibration issue.

    Good to know about the tail wheel. Thanks guys. I'm planning on buying a carport with sides so it won't be in direct sun. I will also be purchasing a Bruce canopy and engine cover to keep the critters out.

    Storing Kitfox does and don't?
    Hi all, I just picked up a Kitfox which was sitting idle in a hanger for 4 years. Wing tanks empty.
     
    i am planning on storing the plane (wings folded) in a carport during the winter months and when I'm doing maintence on it. 
    Can anyone provide feedback on the best way to store the plane in this fashion?
    also: should the wing tanks have fuel in them while storing? I was always taught to keep the tanks full in a piper and Cessna.

    wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased a completed Kitfox 1200 which I will be bringing back up to snuff.it has minor maintence that needs to be done.  Plan to have it in the air in the next 6-12 months.

    Hey guys, thanks for all the info. I purchased a completed plane and I'm interested in the BRS. Will give you a call Monday.
     
    with regards to the prop, it came with 2 (a 3 blade and a 2 blade powerfin ). I want a standard  fiberglass or carbon spinner.
     
    with regards to the cover, I called Bruce covers and they can make one to work when the wings are folded back.

    1) cabin cover (that can be used when wings folded)
    2) BRS system for a Kitfox IV
    3) spinner for 2 or 3 blade prop
