    Thank you friends,
I will try and let you know. For now, bad weather, rainy/snowing a little, freezing, low clouds ... no way to try now.

    MATCO Tail wheel shimmy
    Dear friends,
I am no more Avid/Fox breed owner as you already know, but my Bristell is tail dragger as well. Tail wheel used is MATCO light weight version of the dual fork eight inch tail wheel WHLT- 8LD installed as full swiveling version, mounted on dual steel spring. (see picture below)
During one year of operations (mostly on paved RWY) I am facing troubles with strong shimmy vibrations in the case of three-pointer landing (not often, rather on mains) or in the case I am putting tail to ground soon after landing.
I would like to know what could be o reason for such vibrations.
    Thank you for any opinion

  4. Jenki added a post in a topic SKYPER GT9 - new bird in the hands

    Hi everybody,
a little more news regarding Skyper GT9. I just finished "user test"period. We had unusual long and dry autumn here, nice weather till last Sunday. Rainy, cloudy wet ... damp since then. I've flown on Sunday just till the low clouds and rain reached my airstrip.
Interesting bird this Skyper. All metal and unusual combination of classic tubular construction of cockpit cage and engine compartment covered by composite cover (matter of good aerodynamics), all-metal semi-monocoque structure of wings and tail cone including tail feathering. Sturdy compact construction. Wing has sweep-forward 3 degree. BRS equipped. Operational speed range 60 KIAS to 119 KIAS, VNE = 145 KIAS, touch down even less 40 knots. Huge windows, closed cockpit, no wind blow. A little lazy on ailerons, very agile on elevator. Sturdy landing gear with good manners, steering on front wheel. STOL definitely, but ... Unfortunately, no taildragger version is available   What else ... clever and speedy traveler (up to 540 NM), excellent for aerial photography, observation, whatever. I would recommend yoke rather then stick for control ... but who knows if manufacturer will listen. Some pictures for you...

Hi everybody, anything new about this aircraft?
As far as I know, importer doesn't penetrate market with such price for this aircraft ... even though it is definitely not "flimsy" solution, significantly more robust then Avid I've seen here. Producer doesn't acquire essential skills for such production because they are producing all-metal SportCruiser. Only one piece produced with support from original manufacturer that is all.
We have some aircraft around from original production and original name STYLUS. I personally know 5 of them, 3 are trike-gear and 2 are tail-draggers, flying a lot. One is suffering by cracks on engine mount ( oldest one, old type of engine mount construction, 100HP Rotax ) others are in good shape, one is more then 2000 hours now. The closest is parking in the same hangar as I am, about 800 hours on clock now, but trike gear ...

    Hi friends,
time is running fast, I have some news regarding plane (though it is no more /for now/ shoulder-wing with Avid heritage) I am flying now.
As it was my dream to go back to taildragger, so I've made a decision. There is no too much shoulder-wings on the market here, unfortunately.
My plane is now Bristell TDO, long wing version (29,95 ft), sort of speedy all-metal plane in this category. I am keeping still STOL and rough field capability though there are certain limitations related to low-wing concept but main limitation is low position of tail feathering definitely. Cruising speed 100 - 110 kts is nice advantage (Rotax 912 @ 5000 rpm), roomy cockpit, 2x 20kg/44pounds baggage boxes in the wings, 15kg/35pounds in the back part of cockpit. Wheels are 6" low pressure due to rough terrain capability.

    Hi everybody,
recently I've found interesting video from altiporto Chamois in Italian Alps (altitude 5.811 ft)

The point is that there was aircraft Parrot Land Anywhere flying / sort of interesting solution, have a look:

It looks like sort of new solution for landing gear, suitable for STOL operations, isn't it?

It was nearly standard trip, probably "everyday bread" for him, but I have complete record of track in may iPad/Air Navigation Pro app.
I hope to go back in future to spend more time flying - beautiful country.

Mountains flights on the trip - New Zealand
    Dear friends,
this is not Avid or Fox flying but I decided to share this video I took in March at the end of my business trip through New Zealand. My job is ATC systems (Air Traffic Control Systems) development and support so I had opportunity to work for AirNav New Zealand shortly. I finished my trip there by excellent flights to Milford Sound and back to Queenstown. Beautifull mountains, clever pilot - strong memories for me. I have only iPhone video but still nice enough.
    and second part

SKYPER GT9 - new bird in the hands
    Hi friends,
I have new toy in the hands for "customer test" ordered by aviation magazine here.
Even though I have now Bristell, I am still sort of addicted to shoulder wing planes. This SKYPER is all-metal aircraft, very light, just 285kg /  628 lbs empty , but MTOW is 600kg/1322 lbs.
What is unusual for me is quite high speed for cruising available, probably due to wing profile. I had only "first date" just no more the 2 hours in the air and 8 landings. Engine is standard ROTAX 912 / 100HP and origin of the aircraft is UL category 475kg/1047 lbs now enhanced to LSA level.
