    At this point I feel as if I must chime in:
    If you've followed this post you know I recently re-powered my Highlander with a Yamaha.  I originally had planned to use the Mohawk/Greg's clutch that was advertised as ready to go.  Long story short I was delayed for over a month getting it fitted and once I received the part it was recalled before I could even install it.  The particular clutch I had received had failed, been rebuilt and failed again with another customer (which was the reason for the recall).  Greg's attitude through the entire process basically was as if he was doing me a favor and I should be having fun experimenting with his parts on my experimental.  I quickly felt as if I as if I would be testing a prototype of his clutch and got to the point that I did not trust him.  I did offer to continue working with him if he would provide a free clutch, but he refused.   On the other side of the coin Teal Jenkins, Steve Henry, Twisted Metal Racing and Rotax Rick provided professional and prompt delivery of products with impeccable support on the re-power.    All these guys are great, they're having fun helping folks get in the air.  Simply put the money is secondary.   I'm sure a 75 hour inspection will be less hassle than what I experienced working with Greg.  The unprofessional nature of his post is very much indicative of my experience.

    The pilot said it handled well.  Currently the prop is pitched at 8200 RPM full throttle static.  He only ran it up to about 8000.  85 degree OAT, temps ran right at 215.  
    Slow flight IAS about 25, at 8000 RPM IAS around 80.
    That's about all I have for now, now I just need to learn to fly a short coupled tail dragger.........

    Next is to add oil pressure to the rx1 engine.  Drilled and tapped the large bolt that holds on the oil cooler.  Will report when complete.  Anyone else tried this?

    First start up.  It fired right up.... after I opened the fuel valve.

    Nothing too much to post yet.  Looks like a higlanger without a nose and a motor on the ground beside it.   I'm currently upgrading the landing gear and brakes, while I await getting my PSRU and clutch.  Greg is going to fit one of his new clutches to Teals adapter set up.  Once I get the welding  done and fabric patched  where I changed the landing gear and tires I'll hang the engine.  Steve made my mount, header, air box and coolant tank.  So I'm hoping with all those parts it'll come together reasonably quick.  The first photo is before I hacked it all up, the second is current condition.

    Regarding carb set up.  I've talked with Steve quite a bit about his and last we talked he was running somewhere around a 180 main jet.  Everything I read seems like running a small air box or just filters calls for a rich environment.   I do recall him speaking highly of the holtzman springs.  I very interested in what others are doing here.  I should have my motor up and running on a highlander in a month or so.   Really open to prop suggestions as well.
