I've been unable to locate the AD (or whatever it was) on reinforcing the wood ribtails on the IV. Anybody have a source?

Thanks for your answer.  FAR 91 says a personal or automatic ELT is required. What is meant by personal? Do any of the handheld PLB's meet that requirement?

I have an older AK-450 ELT that was taken out of a certificated aircraft about a year ago. Wonder about its suitability in an experimental. What are you guys using? 

Any recommended tutorials for filling out form 8050-1 registration application? I'm not requesting a special number. Also, I bought it as an unfinished kit from a person who was not the original owner. No paper trail.

Wonder if you have a draggy brake? That wheel stopped turning quick when you lifted off.

I don't think I have the correct hinge for my elevator trim tab (according the the drawings in my manual). Wondering what I should order. I'm thinking probably the extruded aluminum piano hinge from Spruce. .040 thick maybe? 

Any recommendations for masking tape? Using Poly Tone.

What is your experience with DAR's? Did they want to see the build in stages? Do they want to supervise the build? Or just one inspection after completion?

Dumb question maybe. What is the camlock in the middle of the turtle deck for? Nothing there to attach to.

My kit was missing the turtle deck parts. Anybody have good pics from various sides and angles? I do have the bearing pieces and fairings.

Is this factory? Can't find anything in the manual. Not sure I'm comfortable with pop rivets in a primary control linkage.

Wondering how much Poly Spray to order?

I did a bit of covering work last winter, which I then wrapped and covered,but quite a bit of dust got in anyway. Pretty windy here.  Would it be ok to wash with soap and water and rinse it before I put on the Poly brush?

Seems like I remember seeing a complete package for a cub on Spruce. Had something like 11 gal of poly brush. Can't find it now.

Used about 3 qt. Poly brush on 1 wing. 2 brush coats, tapes and 3 spray coats. Sound about right?

Do any of you guys put finishing tape on this  part of the fiberglass wingtip where the fabric rubs?

What do you guys do if one of those little nose rib tails breaks off in a wing? Fly with it that way?

That's what I'm gonna do

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find it. Seems to be a conflict between the Poly Fiber manual and the Avid manual on gluing fabric to the ribs. Avid says glue to bare wood, PF says put down reinforcing tape and don't glue. Course I don't know how to attach fabric to an undercambered wing without gluing. I do intend to lace the ribs. Any thoughts or advice? Photos would be much appreciated.
