    Avid C Model S/N 738 For Sle
Don't know why the text didn't go with the pics but here it is now, Terry

Hi all, I am selling my  Avid C Model S/N 738 as I have been unable to renew my aviation medical and will have to give up flying. It has 122 hours on it and was originally imported in 2013 from the US although very little paperwork came with it. I bought here in Canada and it had never completed import requirements here so I completed the import inspection requirements in April 2022 and it was issued with a Canadian Special Certificate of Aiworthiness. I have only flown it 7 hours since then.  I have a converted boat trailer that it will fit on.  Price is $20,000 Canadian for plane and trailer. It has an IVO Prop Medium on it. At some point in time the previous owner installed a Rotax 582UL Bluehead engine (S/N 3971023R) and flew the aircraft without a valid C of A so there was no logbook to verify the time. A new logbook was started with times from the original import in 2013.

The aircraft was recovered using PolyFiber system and 2.97oz dacron. New windscreen and doors, widened the fuselage, new bungees. Fiberglass leading edge with 2” nose extension, fiberglass wingtips, wing ribs modified to speed wing matching Riblet airfoil closely and flapperon hangers metalized. Empty weight 616 lbs Gross weight 1050. Also has a set of covers for cockpit area. Has the nose gear support tubing built in. It has several of the MKIV Mod, Cowling and Fiberglass seat etc.

Here are a few pics and a small video if they upload correctly, I have other pics available.

    Thanks Terry

Don't see any pics TJay.... we get to about -20F but it's a dry cold. We always get a nice January thaw for a few days as well.  I wouldn' feel comfortable with the diesel heaters, the fire risk would worry me althogh I could see using one as an engine pre- heater as they do produce a lot of heat.

Thanks for all the very great info everyone, I've decided to go with the radiator core water heater version for heat. Can anyone supply the model number or dimensions of the Kitfox cooler and fittings, and perhaps installation instructions?
    Thanks , Terry

Hi Chris...they sure look interesting, I just wonder if there would be a significant fire hazard with them, and where they could be safely mounted in a fabric plane?
Jim knowing what you know having had both systems....would you choose one type over the other? I lean towards the heat muff only because I am more familiar with it.
    Thanks, Terry

Thanks to all for the excellent advice, I'm north of Toronto, Canada and it gets pretty cold here in the winter. From what research I have done so far it seems that the water type heater gives a better heat than the muffler shroud, and most of the Kitfox types have gone to water heat I think they use it in Challengers too. I'm not against the muffler shroud but would just like to put in the best system for maximum heat output. I know I'll need it all at some point during the winter. I really like your heat muff system Jim and if I go that way you have provided great pictures and info for me to follow.
    Thanks, Terry

    Cabin Heater Info
Hello all, I'm putting heat in the plane this winter. ( A little late I know) but it's for next year. Does anyone know the size of the heater core required or the fan sizes I should look for? Any other parts necessary? Lot's of confusing info out there and I'd like to get something that works on the first try.
    Thanks, Terry

Just looking to improve the geometry...I have seen most of the posts here and will likely adopt something similar. Some people are using "E" type pedal;s on their Avids. The Original brakes are actually not bad.

    Thanks.

    "E" type rudder Pedals
Looking for a set of "E" type rudder pedals for and Avid "C" model serial 748. I'm up here in Canada near Toronto. Just got the bird flying but the geometry of the original pedals is unacceptable.
    Thanks, Terry
