    Well, as long as it's quiet on the list, I'll update this thread.  Yesterday, I rolled the Kitfox 4 out of the paint booth, and moved the wings for the Kitfox 3 in.  Had a bit of hangar rash and some dirt and grease to clean off.  Brushed on another coat of poly brush on all the finish tapes, and then shot a light thinned down coat of poly brush on the wings this evening.  Tomorrow will be a bit tedious, as I will have to go over all those finish tapes and iron them down smooth with no pinked edges sticking up.  Then the real fun part of spraying can start.  Anyway, that's my story for now.  Hope you all aren't getting tired of my posts.  JImChuk

    Speed wing has ribs spaced at 18" on center, Aerobat ribs are 12" on center.  Speedwing flaperons are 3' shorter than STOL flaperons.  JImChuk

    When you say gearbox, I right away think of the thing the prop bolts to and such, but I know you don't mean that.   Yes I would say tilting the plane will help get air out that might other wise be trapped.  Filling like I described will get most of the air out, and if just a tiny bit is left, it probably doesn't matter, but if it all comes out, so much the better.  JImChuk

    I've used the clear hardware store stuff.  1/2" ID if memory is right.  and you are right on item # 2 to fill from lower hose.  I put next size hose over the hose hooked to the engine, and ran it maybe 12" above the resivoir bottle.  Fill that line until oil comes out the upper fitting, goes up the hose till it gets to the bottle.  Re hook the other hose to the bottle, maybe tip the plane on its nose to see if any air bubbles come out of the engine.  Fill bottle to mark, and should be good to go.  The 582 has a bleed screw, but I've never saw any air come out of it if I fill as described above.  Don't think the 532 has the bleed screw.  JImChuk

    I would try an auto parts store, I would think it's the same as an auto brake bleed valve.  Although in the UK, maybe most would be metric thread sized.  JImChuk

    Chris,  I may just send you my old antenna.  It used to work just fine, could read people 30 miles away like nothing.  Now, not so good.  It was made by a guy in Michigan, and it didn't need a ground plane.  Don't think they are available any longer.  Thanks,  JImChuk

    Watch that question mark shaped vent tube while in flight.  If you see fuel being sucked up and out, you will not be the first one to see that.  That's the reason for the valve in that vent line.  JImChuk

    My thoughts were this.  (and I'm probably wrong)  The ELT is set up to transmit at 121.5  The channels I use are 122.7 -123.0  Not really very far from 121.5.  Would it likely be good enough or at the least not do any harm to my radio if I tried it?  JImChuk

    I've been fighting radio issues myself lately, and I think the antenna is the problem.   I have  a never used ELT antenna, would that work to try to check and see if I really have an antenna problem?  Electronics is not my strong suit by any means.  Thanks,  JImChuk

    Rubber o rings for 582 starter
    Hi guys,  I needed to replace the o rings on a 582 electric starter, and when I priced out the 17 Rotax ones used, it came to about $75 before shipping.  I ended up ordering some in bulk from a different source.  Of course I now have more o rings then I need.  Any one need a set for their starter, let me know.  $20 for the set of 17.  JImChuk

    Tailfeathers are done as well.  My wife says it's far and away the best looking paint job I've done all year.  The more far and away you get from it, the better it looks.   I'm sure glad it's done.  JImChuk

    Just aircraft will sell you an aluminum  5' long spar stiffener.  I bet if that was cut in 4 pieces, it would make great spice material.  Should be able to get some 2 1/2" aluminum tube (.065" wall thickness) fairly easily on line.  Or maybe some one has a bent up spar they would cut up.  JImChuk

    Thanks,  I'm copying the color scheme on my Kitfox 1 that I had.  Will be putting red pinstriping on the orange stripe.  Won't fly this winter I'm guessing.
