Yamma-Fox,  Sounds good!  Are you through swapping handles?  I was getting dizzy - Don't take much to confuse me.
Leni did a real job on that when the site changed and most everyone went back to handles they had before I got on here - The site changed all the posts to the new-old handles.  Still don't know who is Mikesk now.  Was he the one with the big tractor as an Avatar?  I think he was the one making the better pedals?  Took me a day or so to figure out which one was Jim Chuk.  How can I refer someone to buy Mike's pedals if I don't know his handle?  EDMO

Agree - Maybe a shield to deflect exhaust heat in area in front of belly radiator?  EDMO

Great info Fred.  Looks like with that exhaust you would want to use front radiators instead of a belly radiator?  EDMO

Kitfox wings are only a foot shorter and the tips are better, and lots more of them around. IMO.   But, I agree with TJay - Vancouver, Bellingham or Seattle should have tubing suppliers and wood ribs are easy to make - Buy better spar inserts from Just Aircraft, or pay more from Kitfox.  EDMO

Fred,  Does anyone make mounts for that engine for Avid and Kitfox?   What about exhausts, props and other stuff?  EDMO

I was just about to ask the same question TJay - He shows both engines that would be mounted plugs down, like Avids - Kitfox mounts theirs plugs up with the gear box rotated 180 degrees.  EDMO

How about one of the Nationwide furniture moving companies - "United Van Lines?" - If there was an 18 wheeler going from Indiana to Seattle, or Vancouver, and had room on his load, that might be a possibility?  Dispatchers know where all the trucks are coming from and where going to.  They pack good too.  Just a thought.  EDMO

TJay,  I guess it all depends on how touchy your Jab engine is with rpms - I like the button type with Vernier - I twisted a lot on throttles for constant speed props.   EDMO

Make something simple to mark where your prop flange should be, remove your 503 and set the HKS on the mount and see where you need to be from there.  Maybe some spacers or a new plate is all you need?  EDMO

TJay,  Was the mount shown above originally for a 503?  Did you have to make a new mounting plate for it, or just put new engine bolt holes in it?
My 532 mounts are supposed to fit the 582.  The Kitfox 1 manual had drawings for both the 532 and 503 mounting plates like the one shown under your engine above, but I think they moved the 503 farther forward than the 532.  I believe the rubber mounts were all in the same location, so I was thinking that they only used one mount with different plates.    EdMO

The cowl, I think covers your windshield bottom and air pressure is pushing it towards the plane -  I was talking about the front of the doors, especially with some kind of tape underneath, might be in a high-pressure wind stream that could get under them, or suck them outward? - That is why I thought they should be more secure in the front.  "Anything that can come loose, will come loose, sooner or later."   Who knows what the tape will do in the future? - I trust bolts.   EDMO

10 pound Brown trout!  Small by Canadian and Alaska standards, but huge here - My sister-in-law and her husband go trout fishing a lot - they weigh their tiny trout in ounces - guess that is something in minikilos!  ;<)    Is that the same weight stone as in Curling?  Happy Thanksgiving Turkey Day.  Maybe you have Trout instead?  My Thanksgiving meal used to be Alaska King Crab legs, Gulf of Mexico Shrimp, Beer-battered Halibut and Scallops.   I was very Thankful to get to live in Alaska for about 11 years!  EDMO
