Looks like an interesting project. I'm planning to be heading your direction within weeks to visit relatives. It it's still available I'd like to look it over. I'm not well educated on the specifics of the Avid so will need to do some research about what works and what doesn't. Any help in getting me smarter would be welcome.
I'm finishing up a Grumman AA1-B project soon...as in the next couple months...hopefully. It's been my magic carpet for a long time. I've enjoyed the speed, simple joy of a sweet handling inexpensive way to fly. I'm finishing a restore of the whole airplane, engine and airframe. Time to pass it along to some one who appreciates what it has to offer. My flying "wants" have changed and the where, when and how I fly has changed as well. I like "boony" flying these days. dropping in at the local or not so local lake or river retreat, searching for the wild horse herds or watching the wolves run. Hard to do in my little AA1-B. So I'm looking for a way to satisfy that kind of flying. I'll be putting the Grumman up for sale or trade as soon as it's finished and am looking for an aircraft that has flight characteristics more like bush flying than fast A to B flying.
