Does anyone know what kind of Resin system was used on the wing tanks originally?  Was it Epoxy, VinylEster, Polyester, etc?

Would people quit posting to this topic?  I have to close my eyes while scrolling down to avoid throwing up each time......

The thing I've found with turbulence, in admittedly heavier airplanes, is to ride with it as much as possible, don't fight it. It's easier on the plane, and on the pilot (maybe not the passengers though).

I'm not a fan of any of the slothing stuff, Caswell or otherwise.  It was popular for a while in the Rutan world, since the tanks are built of fiberglass and foam, and a b*tch to get sealed.  Many of the folks that did that are now having the joy and privilege of cutting the top of the tank off (which happens to be the wing strakes) to remove it all and then do the tank properly like the plans said to do.  A few crashes from engine failures after the filters all filled up with cured slothing compound that separated from the tank walls will motivate you to do that.

This time of year, I don't think the views on the beach are worth flying that low   Spring break, maybe, but not now.  As I said when I lived in St. Petersburg when someone from Illinois asked me if there was a place like Muscle Beach in California, I told them no, this here is the Gulf Coast, all we got is Beer Belly Beach.  And the men aren't much to look at either!

The cell phones are troublesome, but the propane tanks not so much.  It is now cold in Missouri, and it takes a lot of heat to crank out that much Meth!
Ok, now that's funny, I was looking for a map of meth production by state, and the first story I clicked on had an ad at the top 'You won't love it a little, you'll love it a lot!' Can't make that stuff up!   (The ad was for Google ChromeCast, but that was in little letters, the rest in great big letters)

Hmm, that Aircam is just itching to run into a drone, isn't it?  If the drones stay below 400ft, where they belong, and we stay above 500ft, where we belong, there won't be a problem.

Remember when you went the hardware store, got a bag of bolts/nuts/whatever from the bulk bins, then had to try to write on the stupid plastic bag with a pen that wasn't there, and if it was it didn't write anymore?  Now I just take a picture of the barcode label on the bins I get stuff from, then show it to the cashier.  Much better!  Works for stuff in Home depot like concrete blocks, etc. that don't have a barcode also.

Nothing that happens at -30 sounds like any fun to me!  Even +30 doesn't sound like any fun, unless it is celsius!

I don't care what race, religion, or nationality they appear to be, buying 60 burner phones would raise red flags, and yes it should be reported.  Doesn't matter if they are radical Islam, or the latest version of David Koresh, Timothy McVeigh, or a convenience store owner buying stock.  Not a normal activity.

    Knuckledragger,
Yep, I'm up in Lake City (15FL), not too far away.  I've been admiring your buccaneer when you post pictures of it!  I wander down to Tavares ever so often to get some seaplane time at Jones brothers.  Not a cub, but it is closer than Winter Haven!  They have a 150 or 152 they do seaplane ratings in at Jones Brothers as well, but they are more expensive than Jack Browns.  I highly recommend Jack Browns for the rating.  Well run operation, and a heck a lot of fun!

Mine is under the floor, center of the cabin, sticking down.  Had to get a 90degree adapter so I could connect the coax, it is right under the support that goes between the pilot and copilot.

Best flying I ever did was getting my seaplane rating at Jack Browns in Florida.  J3 Cub,December, about 70 degrees outside, doing 60mph below 500 feet the whole time with the windows down hopping from one lake to another.  Awesome!

    Ed,
Most of the people I knew from Central Missouri didn't speak the English I'm familiar with either   I wouldn't call it American, more like 'murican.  I can diss on them, I spent a lot of time there.  My dads parents lived in Centralia, my moms were in and around Rolla.
Have you ever walked into one of those corner locally owned 'convenience stores' recently?  If you hear anything that even sounds like English, it would be a lot different than all the ones I've been in!

I highly doubt that anyone was certain they were Muslim.  They may have appeared to be from the Middle East, but amazingly Syrian Christians and Syrian Muslims look exactly alike.  Could have been just buying them to resell (after markup) at their local store.  Or they could have been equipping a giant radical islamic cell in Mexia, Auxvasse or Kingdom City- with names like that, something evil has to be going on there!

Didn't think you were, you were very complimentary overall, but didn't think this class was quite as advertised.  It happens.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I didn't think Joey was being very complimentary of their teaching skills, or at least teaching the subject advertised....

Yea, that was the original plan.  The first two trips we sorted stuff, got rid of the stuff we didn't want, etc.  Then my daughter got sick.  Then it was just throw the sh*t in and we'll sort it out later.
Problem was a 5,000 sqft house, a 2,000 sq ft garage, and a hangar.  It is easy to accumulate way too much cr*p when you have way too much space!

Gulf shores isn't that far away by airplane, about 6 hours by car.  If you are there through January, the Cherokee might have to wander over that way one of these days.

    Jim,
I'm in Lake City - right at the intersection of I-10 and I-75.  It was 41 and pouring down rain when I hooked up the trailer in Illinois, 79 and Sunny when I got home.  Today they are getting snow showers - I knew last week was my last week to get it without danger of snow/ice.
And as for full, that was actually a pretty empty load.  It took 15 round trips with that 8' x 20' cargo trailer to get all our crap from Illinois to Florida!  Still better than the time I paid movers to do it - I think movers are like lawyers, 99% of them make the other 1% look bad!
