Makes sense. Which is more important? If I only had a cht, I wouldnt be sweating, but watching my water temps press 180, I'm hot!

    Water temps and CHT temps
Why is the water temp range so much lower than the CHT "green arc"?

Water temps should be 175 max

CHT is 230-270 with 300 max.

My water temps and CHT are nearly equal which I expect them to be. But my water temps are on the high side, but my CHT is not even close to the "green arc" of 230-270???

I have a set of mc-3's installed. I cant keep the right mc from seeping hydro fluid out the top when the pilots side mc is depressed. 3 orings. 3 times. No luck yet
Im going to mail it to matco today for overhaul and see if they cant work their magic. If it cannot be repaired, ill have to purchase a pair of the -4's or find an mc-3 on the used market

The one for sale has an 0320. It would be great to talk with someone who has flown the Murphy.

Need some pros and cons. I need to educate myself on these. Mission will stay the same as the fox which is to play around locally but I "need"3 seats.

There is a bird in MN for sale on BS.

    Fwiw, here is my system.

2wing tanks feed into my aluminum header tank behind my seat. I have a shutoff valve for each wing feed upstream of my header tank. That allows me to select feed of course. I have a vent line which doubles as my fuel gauge or a "header tank condition indicator". If I cant see any fuel in that line, I know I have header tank fuel only at best and had better be on final.... My fuel lines are black rubber. My vent line is translucent. I suppose if my main fuel lines were translucent, the vent line would not be needed. Ill get some pics...

From the header it flows to my shutoff valve under the instrument panel. Then to the gascolator. Then to the mikuni. Then to the carbs.
Thinking of adding an electric backup fp.

So far so good with my EGT's. I've had two quick flights and they have been right on target. Until I get a longer flight in her, I don't want to give a full report just yet.

I have inspected all the above. And with the clutch installation, The gerabox oil was changed. I'll certainly give that some credit.

    Thanks

The clutch is on and it is fantastic!!!! I have 45's installed with 3 turns and could see going leaner. But for now, I'm very happy. I have her running at 1500 with just a bit of stutter. I'll continue to work on smoothing her out.
Impact driver is a must. Flywheel came of with a 3-arm puller. Found evidence of loctite on flywheel. Not cool. About broke my puller getting the thing off. Torque wrenches for assembly and some fresh gear oil.
Noticed water temps get a bit higher without the airflow?

Now I have a "turbine fox"!!!! My friends are jealous....

Spark plugs it was. I had 25hrs on those already! Too much fun to slow down and change the plugs. I'll put them on a 15-20 hour schedule

Spent the day carb jetting. Getting closer.

    Thanks

    What did I do?
    Merry Christmas!

Sorry I haven't updated my progress. There has been very little!

I did end up replacing my plastic tank with a metal one. Hopefully cured the leaking tank once and for all.

Still chasing high egt temps. Today I figured I'd give it another try. So I set up my jetting as per the rotax manual--sorry RR. Started her up and went for a short flight. Egts were not where I wanted them needless to say. As far as rpm, I was getting 6000 static and 6700 wot. I'm thinking that spread is too much.

So I land and do another runup. Shoot around the patch for the fun of it and then roll her into the hangar to adjust the pitch. Reduced by 1deg. Time to try again.

Nothing, nada. She wont start, wont fire, pop. Nothing.

    What did I do?

Absolutely perfect day to fly in south Louisiana today. Got my t-crate and legend cub flying pals out of the hangar and we spent the day burning gas.

Ok, here are my new stats.

I have not yet changed the main jets. Probably should have done that prior to this testing.

I adjusted the prop for the first run. Just tossed a few degrees at the blades. Static run was at 5750. Ok, a bit low, but lets see what she will do. On the takeoff run, I noticed the rpm actually decreasing! Ok, back to the barn. Too much pitch
Set the pitch again and got a 6100 static. BTW, my static is consistently 600rpm lower than WOT. So I knew I was going to get 6700 WOT. Test flew. No love yet. Temps still running up to 1200.
Adjusted the pitch yet again, and I think I hit the sweet spot. 6000 static and 6600 wot. Much better. Mid-range temps stayed in check below 1150. CHT is at 125. Interestingly enough, my CHT has indicated 125 throughout all this testing.

So here I am. I think at at the end of my props efficiency. Either I change the prop for a longer blade, or go with a harder set of gears.

    Interesting ideas. Thanks for opinions

    I have a 3:1.

I haven't gotten to the clutch or repitching yet. Busy week. I promise to report findings
