Mine does that too ,I'd try 3500 rpm and see what happens, engine isn't really working at idle and low rpm .just my two c@nts

i think I ended up cutting the strut shorter making it taller and was able to get more preload on the bungee.

After getting the certificate on my sonex I completely think that a person could get one for anything .He looked at the pitcures and had his wife guess how many there were.The certificate was already printed when he showed up.

Ive had good luck with the automotive stuff from napa.used it on my amphib to protect the Dacron from the low slung 670 exhaust. but that is in more of a" free air " application .no cowl

It's a raspy little engine for sure.wondering what most do for inspection ? Pay a dar or wait for the fsdo to come out .dar is around 900 dollars here

It's been a long few months and a tired family but I'm getting close with the sonex .the firewall forward and cowl fit took almost as long as paint but was easier on my lungs . It's modeled after my favorite plane called an sbach 342.the 3300 t Jay turned me on to runs great and hopefully 335xr will fly soon .
