David, this fuselage was damaged in a trailering accident also. It needs a lot of repair. I do not have the means to repair it at this time. Another year or so  and I should have my shop built. I have been thinking about building a Badass Stol plane out of it someday. Not sure what will happen with it.

Not sure what the shipping would be up there. I'd have to take it apart and try to get it in some form of packaging. It might be easier to remove the front fork and wheel from the down tube and ship them separately. Not sure.
As far at the main gear they are no good to me without the nose wheel as the are a set. The Tail-Dragger gear is taller. If you don't want them I can throw them away.
Let me know if your still interested.

    Hi from Northidahoavidflyer
Hey Guys, I sold my Avid and have not been around the site in a bit. I'm building a Zenith 701 and hope to have it done late Spring.
I have decided to rebuild the Avid Mark IV frame I have once the 701 it done. I would like to lengthen and the fuselage and build a set of cool wings for it.
You guys take care and I'll be checking in from time to time. I hope you know what a great resource this site is for your type of Aircraft. Thanks to the Monitors for keeping this a great site.

Three blade Cool Prop for sale
Hey Fellas! I have a three blade Cool prop that was on the Avid Mark IV I bought. It was on a Rotax 912 UL. My uncle said it was the best prop he ever ran on the Avid/912. It is white and has P tips. He said it made less noise compared to the other props he had ran. Its a little used looking but it was flying up until I got it. If someone was interested I'd be happy to send some detailed photos and except a reasonable offer.
    Thanks

Avid Mark IV nose wheel assembly with main gear
Want to convert your Avid to a nose wheel? I have a castering nose wheel assembly and the shorter main gear for an Avid Mark IV. Asking $1000 obo The main gear have fairings and are covered. The brake backing plates are a little rough. They could be used the way they are or the backing plates easily replaced.

    Sold!! Mountain Avid for sale
With regret I’m putting up my Avid Mark IV for sale. I’m moving to a bigger airplane. Most of you know this plane or have seen me post about it so I’ll put it up here first. Great flying, back country capable little plane. Joey can give a second opinion on this plane as he has flown in it with me.
2118 Avid Mark IV Heavy Hauler with 68 hours TT. 136 hours on a GH 582. Three blade warp drive with C  (3:1) gearbox. Engine has never ran anything but 91 non-ethanol fuel and Amzoil Intruder oil. Standard steam gauges with a Belite multi function gauge. Extended baggage compartment. Two 14.5 gallon fuel tanks. Ram mount, power ports and remote GPS antenna installed for a stratux receiver. Handheld and intercom included. Plane will come with a condition inspection. The price is 16k. Priced under current market value.  I also have snow skis and a custom trailer I would make someone a great package deal on. My friends say I’m crazy for letting this go but it’s time for a bigger plane. Feel free to ask for picture or information.

    Unmolested stock Avid wide gear
I have a set of stock Avid Mark IV landing gear. This is the wide gear which as far as I can tell is near 3” wider than the standard gear. This gear has never been used or drilled. Someone asked me about these awhile back but I lost the message. $200 OBO.

The real problem you are going to run into is finding an engine mount. I just sold my 912 firewall forward and they are just something you don't find anymore. You might email Mark at Avid and see what he is able to help you with. You may be able to modify your cowl. The oil cooler is another thing that will needs made. They really stuff those things in there.

  25. NorthIdahoAvidflyer added a post in a topic Reregistering in order to get repairmans cert?

It’s no more work (paperwork) building from a kit versus building from parts. In fact it’s less if the kit has changed hands because you have to prove a paper trail of ownership. When you check the built from parts box all that goes away and you are still building it from parts. The FAA does not care about where all the parts come from nor do you have to prove where they come from. It all get the same inspection in the end.
Would I take a completed flying plane and de-register it to save $200 a year.....no. It’s a lot of extra paperwork and I feel it’s always a good idea to have another set of eyes look over the airplane.
    Just me two pennies.
