    I went through the same thing with my girls. I raised them without their mother being around. I miss them when they were small. I was not their friend for a good portion of their teenage years. They have grown into great people so I guess I did alright.

    Meeting other Avidfoxflyers
    I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with The Machinist and Shipl14 at our Treeport EAA Chapter Fly-in. Both of these guys (and Shipl14’s wife too) lent a hand during the fly-in with set up and tear down. The Machinist flew his Avid in.  Shipl14 followed me back to my hanger after the Fly-in and spent some time looking over the Mountian Avid. It was a great time and It’s always fun connectioning with other Avidfoxflyers. Thanks for coming out Guys!!

    Thank you Fred. I called a friend today that works with stuff like this and he said it should be no problem. Thank you for the information. I like the wood idea as a jig / spacing tool.

    Is it ok to bring my buddy to the Avid Camp? He’s a good guy and has helped me with a lot of Airplane moving and hauling. He also lets me fly my Avid off of him private airport.

    Fixing the cowl
    I had a little mishap while moving all my Avid stuff to the Airport. My top cowling got smashed. I took it out to a guy and he reglassed one edge and fixed a spot on the bottom cowl. One of the fasteners up front had been drilled to close to the edge and split out so I had him build up that area. When I went to pick it up I could see that when he reshaped it he took to much off. Now I’m back to where I was before. I hate the body work stuff. I’m just not good at it.

    Weekly passes into the event are $120. The only camping tickets I see are Camp Scholler drive in camping spots @ $27 a day for basic camping

    Getting settles in the Hangar
    We got the hangar all set up and I am about ready to start back to work on the final pre-inspection list. It's just a bunch of small pain in the ass stuff that needs cleaned up before the big inspection. We invited the local EAA Chapter to hold a meeting at our hangar to hopefully connect with some of the other Experimental builders/ Flyers on the Airport, Hopefully THE MACHINIST can make it down???

    I used 1/2 inch grip length with a backer washer. If the backer washer hits anything grind the edge off to make it fit right.
