I don't see why not. Ultralights are using Mountain bike brakes now.

Adam, Joey Myers lives near you and knows a ton about these planes. He is out of town right now but I will let him know you are looking at an Avid. He has two. He most likely knows of the bird you're looking at.  I'll have him post here and you guys can take it from there.
    Good luck and welcome.

I put the ones posted above by Chop. They are much better than the 40's I took out.

I plan to fit the old lexan and outer aluminum skin together with clecos and use that for a pattern. Once I get the new lexan fitted and drilled with new holes I will take the frames out and tig weld the old holes shut. Once that done the frame will go out the powder coater for a new shiny white coating. It should look good when finished.

Turns out that center bar was aluminum and it was glued in place. I was able to knock both bars out easily.
The holes around the bottom of these doors are so bad out of alignment that I'm going to weld them up and re-drill new holes. I guess since he could not see through the outer metal skin that he just drilled whoever he saw fit.

You can see here that whomever put these doors together had a hard time staying center of the tube. If I put all lexan on these doors that’s not going to look good

Apprently I fixed the camera issue. My camera had a HDR on the screen. I turned that function off and now they load fine.

She already flew TJay. I’m just replacing the windows because the previous owner covered it with a tarp and ruined the windshield. I accidentally painted the side windows too. Tried cleaning them but made it worse.

The windshield is done. I’ve tried to post photos last night and this morning and for some reason they load then it throws up an error. This has been happening a lot lately. Sometimes I try it several times they all of a sudden the photo will load. Any ideas?

I purchased an adapter from Teal for an RX-1 conversion. I installed that adapter and there is no doubt it was made with care and precision. Teal offered me other items to build my engine mount and electrical system. His prices were more than fair. I had trouble with my adapter fitting. Teal offered to send me another one immediately but took his personal time to help me find the problem which was extra casting on the ROTAX Flywheel causing clearance issues.
This is the second attack on Teal I’ve witnessed from Greg on an open form. The last one Teal respectfully countered and Greg toned it way down.
Greg, instead of batting your gums about Teals product how about you work on proving your own product and getting it out to people who can verify it’s worth to the marketplace. This Experimental business is full of blowhards claiming the next best thing. What we as Experimenters want is proof in product. Maybe you have some good products but we have not seen them and Teal as you can see from people’s testament has proven his and made a few good friends in the process. You might be the worlds best engineer Greg but talking mad crap about another mans product just seems like a real sorry business angle.

I hope this Lexan is not directional. I would hate to waste a bunch of this Polycarbonate

I’ve ran these on the Crazed Pilot Controller three times for extended periods and it seems to handle them well. This same controller runs two 48 head LED wing lights on my Zenith 701 with no problem. I have a hard time believing it will not handle two 6 head lights with 1/4 of the wire length. I could use a car flasher but they are heavy. If I’m wrong I burn up a relatively cheap controller. So far it seems to handle it. We shall see. I’m by no means an electrical guru. In fact I’m at the other end of the spectrum.

Well the good thing about living in a populated area is you can find supplies. I could not find 3/32 but I found 1/16 Makrolon. It's for $56.00 a 4 x 8 sheet.

Well Crap!! I got half way into fabricating the new windshield and figured out my Lexan was    1/32 instead of 1/16.
