Nice car!! I can totally relate as I have been building a 69 for my daughter- I think ours was a little rougher than yours though when we started. My friends always gave me a hard time when we were building it(took a little over 2 and 1/2 years) that I would never let her drive it- the last pic is it sitting in the high school parking lot!!!

    Avid Amphibious floats
I just picked up a set of Avid amphibious floats with all the hardware, was wondering if anyone has any info on these so I can start some research- or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks-

As probably most of you know from TKF- I have been fighting a vibration problem on my Kitfox since I bought it last year. I have done SB#54, rebuilt the carbs, changed plugs, sent the gearbox off to be reshimmed, etc. My problem was I did not know what was normal as I have never owned a Rotax before- all my experience was with Lycoming and Continental. After checking with a few other Rotax owners, and seeing the problem Larry was having, I figured out I might have the same problem- so I pulled my gearbox back apart again and discovered the same spalling that Larry found in his, so I ordered a new dog gear and gearset. After a two and a half month backorder wait from Rotax, I finally get the new parts- and have to machine a spacer to make everything fit. Nothing is easy with Rotax!!! The good news is I spent the last couple of days putting everything back together, putting the doors back on and bleeding the brakes. Ready to fly!!! Hopefully tomorrow!!!!

I am "that other guy" from washington. After replacing the same parts as Larry, reshimming the gear box and putting it back together, my plane seems to be turbine smooth. I have not been able to flight test it however- as it is just too damn cold. Hopefully Larry gets better soon and has the same result.

Hey guys- been a lurker for a while, finally figured I had to sign up over here to give Larry a bad time:-) Used to be a longtime Mooney owner, sold my Mooney this year and bought a low hour Kitfox Model IV. Been pretty much spending the summer getting used to the plane, making all the necessary(to me) changes and trying to get the damn thing to run right. My life is pretty much airplanes, motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles, basically anything with a engine in it.
Here is a summary of my plane-

    94 Model IV Longwing 1200
    80 HP Rotax 912UL
Warp drive prop switching to IVO in flight adjustable
Updated from bungee to Grove gear
Currently working on my doors(switching to see thru)

I bought the Acrylic bubble doors from LP Aero, cracked them right out of the gate, got pissed off and switched to polycarbonate. I am still working on them and progress has been really slow. Here is the latest in progress pic-
