Forgot to mention engine, ground adjustable 62” prop and instruments also reduced in price.
    What do you need?

Anyone still out there following this topic?  If so, you win because I just dropped the price again.
Just $3000 takes my airframe, fabric, dope, glue, stitching thread, two sets of tires (different sizes), wheel pants, two cowls, tools, hardware, extra this and that, etc - you get the idea!  There literally is much much more too.  Want a work table on castors?  That too.
All you need is a truck or trailer to pick it up in central Georgia.

I finally checked the length of the Sensenich ground adjustable prop.  It is 62".
I have heard nothing from anyone about my engine, prop or airframe.  Is it still priced too high?  Make an offer!

Hey everyone I am back home on St. George Island after escaping to central Georgia.  Funny thing is we lost power there but it only flickered here on the panhandle!  Oh well, better safe than sorry.
Lets talk airplanes and engines.  Both are safe and dry.  The airplane and associated goodies are in Eatonton, Ga.  The engine, prop and instruments are here on St. George.  I dragged it up the steps!
I would really like to sell all so please contact me if you have a real interest.
    Thanks, Brian

I moved from my airport home in GA to St. George Island, FL about a year and a half ago.  All the houses here are on stilts with little if any storage so I can't complete it.  No space.  I did bring the engine, prop and instruments with me since I can store them here and I hope to find someone who wants them.  They are currently for sale on Barnstormers.
I originally had everything (aircraft, engine, prop and instruments) - a $35+K value for sale for $20K but got no takers so now I am going to piece it out.

Check the photo below.  I even built an under belly storage system which is part of the deal.

That's true Steve.  Just hop on 441 northbound. The house is on Deerfield Landing airport so it is a really quick flight too.

    Nearly a giveaway
Want my Avid nearly ready for cover? I am ready to nearly give it away since no one wanted it with new Jab and digital instruments.  Located in GA it is a model C produced in 90 or 91 but never finished.  Serial number unknown.
$4000 includes everything needed to finish it as well as tools, rolling wing rack, two sets of tires, 13 gallon tanks mounted in both wings, extended fuselage, fuel lines, stainless firewall, and a bunch more I can't remember since I am now on St. George Island, FL.
Please contact me directly via email (brian.schoonmaker@gmail.com) since I know nothing of operating on a forum.
    Thanks

  12. BSchoonmaker added a post in a topic Avid "C" HH Project For Sale

I did change the dorsal fin for more lateral control and better aesthetics.....but I have not yet folded the wings.  I better check.
Have to admit I am surprised by the lack of response to this ad so I dropped the price a grand and added a bunch more stuff - like a Lincoln Electric 225 welder, a media blaster, paint booth, work benches and spray gun.  Given that it includes everything except circuit breakers and wire to complete I expected much more.
Here is an example of the extent to which I have gone to decrease drag and improve performance.  What you can't see is the fact that the bottom hinge holes are also sealed to disallow flow (i.e. drag) through the flaperon!

Yes, that is a 2 year old (hydraulic lifters) Jab 2200 still pickled.  Engine and Sensenich ground adjustable composite prop alone cost me over $20K.
    Plus $8K of instruments!
I would love to have it finished but I do not have the skill nor inclination at this point.
Know of someone with the time and skill to finish it for me here in central Georgia?

Avid "C" HH Project For Sale
I have decided to sell my Avid "C" project which is about 90% complete.  Everything needed to complete is included except circuit breakers and wire.
Must see to believe - REALLY! Not cheap but it is the best you will find for sure!
    See ad on Barnstormers

  15. BSchoonmaker added a post in a topic Wing strut adjustment bolt

My aircraft is a C model with heavy hauler wings.  I did not build the wings so I do not know the amount of washout - another reason to add the extra adjustment capability.  Looks like that is what I am going to do but stick with the standard 1/4 bolt if it held to 15g.  I think that is well beyond the point at which other parts might fail and well above the loads to which I plan to subject it.

I do plan to rig my flaperons so I can fly with them in a reflexed position to see the result.  Since I am making MANY drag-related changes to the airplane I plan to report, in detail, on my performance so others can evaluate the impact of serious drag reduction to the airplane.

    Thanks for all your comments.
