  1. I'm selling my Avid Mk IV project. The plane was flying with no accidents (N Number: 70823) before I bought it. It was in a ground-loop and one wing was stripped for repairs. The owner passed away and I purchased it from the widow about two years ago. It was kept in a mini-storage at the time. It appears to be complete, minus the prop and wing struts. I've kept the wings in storage and the fuselage is covered in my back yard. I have not worked on it at all. It has a 582 (blue head, I believe). No prop. The basic instrument panel will need to be rebuilt. $3,000 w/o engine or $6,000 with engine.

Located in Pahrump, NV. 60 miles West of Las Vegas.

  2. I know basically nothing but would like to get into flying.  I'm in Sacramento Ca and haven't seen it in person and will drive up based on the advise.  It appears to be in good shape from the pics.

My main concern is the wing fabric how do I know if its good and what its made of and how much longer will it last?

How do I know If the fuselage is OK not bent or other damage?

It has had a recent annual is that good enough or do I need more inspections?

I don' want to buy a turkey just an Avid with reasonable maintenance cost.

What do you experienced people think? Any and all advice appreciated, thanks.
