Airstreaks and Matco wheels?

Anyone using 26 or 29 inch Airstreaks on Matco wheels?

I currently use Matco 8" diameter wheels and want to go with Matco 6" wheels to use the Airstreaks.

The Matco wheel is only 5" wide and the Airstreaks call for a 6" wide wheel.

What are my options?

Thanks Herman

Hi Herman,

I believe John M on the Yahoo site just put those tires on his matco wheels. Check him out. Bryce

Matco sells 1" wide spacers that go inside the wheels. I had to use 2 spacers in each wheel for my goodyears I had on mine.

Do the Matco wheels use a "hat" style brake disc, like a "normal" aircraft wheel?

No, it uses the same disk that the KF wheels use. Well, actually, it depends on in you buy internal or external calipers I guess. So the correct answer Larry would be yes and no

I use one spacer with my 26" Bushwheels and it works fine. I think that makes them about 5.5" wide. Matco also sells the spun aluminum wheels and they may be wider.
