McCarther River

Tried to catch a King at my favorite spot last Friday but could not find any interested in being caught. I didn't see any rolling or evidence of any so they may not be in there yet. I had a Red on for a brief second before he spit the hook and then I just beat the watter until my legs went numb. Always fun to see what has been wandering around; saw a lot of wolf tracks in the sand but no bear tracks. The day wasn't too good for pictures but I took a few on the way back over to Beluga Lake and down the Talachlitna River to the Skwentna River. A lot of water flowing from the snow pack so the Tal might not be too good for a while. A buddy bought a cabin there with a small strip on a gravel bar so I definately plan to give it a try a little later in the summer.

The fish should be showing up in good catchable numbers anytime soon! Looks like a nice day for out playing anyways! It sure beat me sitting here at work putting out fires all day long
