Jim,  Can you copy the Avid wing test so we can read the printing?

Ya know since there is 4 tubes that means on a perfectly calm flight flying at 1000 lbs each tube is only holding 250 lbs which is nothing.

Dan Denny used an aircraft design engineer out in California - He must have had a reason to go to stronger struts - Avid went stronger too.

Maybe since Iowa has gathered up all the "perfectly calm air" you might be OK as long as you don't fart during the flight!

Just make sure your landings are as smooth!

Ed,  I can't find the paper I copied to my PC just now.  I'll turn it up eventually.  Jim Chuk

Latest Kitfox catalog that I have lists replacement struts for Kitfox 3 and 4 as 1" x .049 wall.   Kitfox 5,6,7 as 1" x .065 wall.

When Kitfox increased the GW to 1050 for the Model 3, they made the 7/8" OD struts longer and attached them farther out on the spars than the model 1 and 2.  Model 4 struts are 1" OD and same length as Model 3, but they might not interchange because of different washout of wings.  EDMO
