EGT Question

I have a rotax 582 with the bing 64 carbs. Wondering if it is normal for egts to run a little hotter at 3500 to 4500 and then cooler at the higher rpm range. I also have the manual in flight adjustable carbs.

Thanks

yes it is normal. My EGTs on take off run right around 1000. At cruise I run them up to 1100 or 1150. I think you should be setting the mixture right around 4000 RPM. turn it out till she starts blubbering, then turn them in one turn at a time till it cleans up. Keep an eye on the EGTs as they should be reading within about 25 degrees of each other. How many RPM are your turning at wide open throttle tied down on the ground?
