WHAT'S A 618?

Education needed - is a 618 really an over-bored 582? What HP compared to 582?

And Leni, what about that Artic Cat 800? Is it a Rotax? adaptable with standard redrives, or roll your own?

The 618 shares the same case as the 582 but I think that is it (maybe the same ignition). The jugs are different etc. They had a problem keeping the 618 running so most people used them for dust cvollectors or for target practice. I think the 619 was putting out somewhere around 80 hp.

The AC 800 is made by Suzuki. No I am having a roll your own plate machined so I can bolt the Rotax gear boxes to it.

The 618 has larger cylinders and also has varable exhaust valves.

Its true, the 618 was not a reliable as a 582 if it was ran like a 582.

Thay had to be ran with different jets per cyl (carb).

I think they were found most common on the Avid Catalina.

I have one but have never ran it. Just got a tractor exhaust for it

this summer. Its supposed to fit a Kitfox round cowl.
