582 missing

Guys,

 

I'm coming to like the 582 now after about 10 hrs.  I still have a miss or roughness from idle up to about 4500 rpm.  It may still be there at TO and cruise power but Im just not noticing it.  Temps and EGT at TO and cruise are good.  The all the plugs look good, I've syn'd the carbs etc. but nothing seems to help.  It appears worst on the left ignition that the right but it's hard to tell.  Any suggestion as to where to start hunting ?

ps anyone looking for some Lotus floats, I think they are 1250's I know where that are a set down this way that probably could be had for a good deal

The carb mid range circuit out of adjustment will cause it to miss at those RPMs.

 

Here's a short "Hints for Home Builders" that gives an overview of the carb circuits.  Then under that you will find short videos on how to inspect and adjust each circuit...Enricher circuit, Idle circuit, Mid range circuit, and main jet circuit.
