FAA: "PILOTS CANT FLY!"

The FAA put out a statement today that "Because of automation, pilots are losing the ability to  fly planes  manually".

I remember a time long ago, on a flight into Houston, Texas, thru some thunderstorms, the pilot, who must have been ex-military, came on the speaker and told us that we were going on manual to avoid storms and get to the landing.  He flew that 727 like we would fly our little birds around trees, or like a fighter-pilot would fly to avoid flak.  We dodged around and between storms and got to the tarmac while other pilots were in a holding pattern.  Seems like too many today cant do that!

Amen to that Ed.  That's what happened to the Asiana flight into San Francisco earlier this year.
