Damn thing blew again yesterday and hosed up my BFR.  Today the winds are blowing the shit away from us so should be good for slying.  Will try and get some shots myself today if I get a chance to fly.

There are some cool pics on one of the pages I linked to that show the ash cloud in the upper atmosphere at about 65,000'.  Looks pretty cool.

Well, seems that the boys took wives and all out to a favorite frozen lake, with forest service cabin, and

are grounded from the volcanic ash fall. Both airplanes and snowmachines are stuck. There is a fresh snow

so maybe getting out won't be to bad.

The lake is @ 20 miles from the nearist road.

I'm in San Diego but talked to Leni's brother this morning, and my son who works on a Cook inlet oil platform.

More later

Bob

We got out and got back home.... We were out on the back side of Bedlam lake yesterday when mark went trough the ice on the creek half way up the hood... I went in nuts deep trying to get him out.. Bout the time we got him out of the water and back up on dry land, the ash hit.... we hold up underthe trees and got a fire going and waited it out.  Mark got some good shot with his cammera, I will get the pics tonight and post some.  The plane had about 3/16" of ash on it when we got back to the cabin. This aM we got a storm advisory.  winds to 80 MPH... we loaded up the sleds, I pulled the radios and blew them out, cleaned the ash off as best I could and hauled ass.  Got home just as the winds were hitting 25 at the airport.  She is in the garage right now looking pretty sad, but nothing I cant clean up.... The sleds are a different story.  We rode them out about 40 miles in the ash so I am sure all bearings, hyfax etc, and toast.
