I prefer to run a fine aged [domestic] snake oil in all my 2-strokes.

Of course all my 2-strokes are Detroits. What would you think of a nice 8V-71 in an Avid?

ran those in our boats... delo 400 by the 5 gallon bucket   we had 4V, 6V and 8V 71 as well as cat 3208, 3160 etc... was fun maintaining the fleet

I'd bet the 5 gallon bucket of Delo would weigh almost as much as your 582. 

Just the starter on a 8V-71 will probably weigh more than the whole FWF on your Avid!
