A few more pictures for you guys

Here is today's progress, I built the engine plate and set the engine in for the first few fittings. I set the engine 1 Degree off to the left, any shimming I need to do now I can do with washers behind the engine mount, It is kind of a tight fit, I had to shorten an engine stud, Cut some of the electric starter housing off. Looks like I will need to cut into my firewall if I want to keep the pull start. Don't see anyway the exhaust will clear the engine mount down tube. But that's for a different day, good news is I think the cowl will fit nice with out to much cutting.

Nice looking cowling.  Just a heads-up, key an eye on the routing for the PTO side oil injection line.  My cross over plug wire was routed too tight and pinched off the line.  Luckily caught before engine start.

You shouldn't have any nose heavy problem with the engine that close to the firewall.  Heres a picture of a Model IV for comparison.

Be sure to allow plenty of room for the engine vibration; they are pretty smooth at high RPM but can shake a lot at low RPM and shutdown.  The rubber mounts are made to absorb some of this but that means the engine moves around a lot more than your engine mount or anything else mounted on the airframe.

With the 503 hot air exit hole in the top of my cowl I can see the engine move.  At cruse the top of the air duct moves (leans) about 1/2 to 3/4 inch to the right.
