Why has our society became so obsessed with sex?

Last night we saw a show that was on fox at 8pm called Magics Greatest secrets revealed. I had remembered watching it when I was younger and our 10 year old is into Magic so we had him come downstairs so we could watch what we thought was a nice family show. It was not 5 minutes into the show that they were showing so much Tits and Ass on the "assistants" that I had to shut it off. Now not that I was complaining but why in the hell do they have to make a family show that is on at 8pm all about sex? It's no friggin wonder that 13 year old pregnant girls doesn't even seem odd anymore. Every commercial you see on TV has a half naked woman on it. Again not that I'm complaining but my kid that is gonna hit puberty soon doesn't need to see that non stop. Some of the crap I've caught him watching on Nickelodeon is pretty far out there too. Anyways.. curious what your thoughts were.

sex sells bud...  does your kid go to public school?  if so, you have no chance of shielding him from sex.  I got 3 spawns of satan 21, 18 and 17.  If they go to public schools or are let out of the house for any reason they will be corrupted.

But I do understand 100% what you are saying.  I do agree that while I like to look at all the titts and ass I can, it does not mean I want to watch it with my kids on a family show.  Hell half the cartoons these days are TWISTED.  nothing like the road runner and shit like that I watched growing up

It is easy to get calloused to that stuff when you don't have kids. Kids make you aware of it again and there are just no plain family shows or cartoons like there used to be. The commercials are full of it even if the show isn't. I got tired of that garbage a few years ago, along with the liberal propaganda news, and just quit watching TV.

I grew up to puberty before TV - or at least before we had one - the first shows were family-type - absolutely no sex, and Roy Rogers and Gene Autry shot the guns out of the badmans hands with no blood. Things have sure changed.

I watched the kids shows, like Sesame Street with my youngest two, and they were OK.

Now, after the local news, some dum-ass cartoon character comes on saying stupid things - named Wilbur or Simpson?

I dont even go to MTV and that shit - only Fox news and weather channel - the other news all belong to King O.

Yes, TV has gone to crap - The bloody video games are worse, I guess. I refused to buy them for my kids.

now that is one I will never understand.... why would a 15 yr old boy screw up a good thing with a smoking hot blond.. um... sex educator.. one must question his orientation at that point! I had no males in my family to talk to as I got older - I did corner an Uncle when I was 50 and he was 74, and asked him, "At what age do men slow down or quit having sex?" He laughed and said, "When I get that old, I will let you know!" Unfortunately, he died the next year. I'll be 72 soon and still dont need viagra!
