I priced a set of Bing rebuild kits the other day. The price of their parts is worse than Rotax!!

Please pardon my limited knowledge.

Are these the idle jets that vary with operational altitude? About 8mm lomg.

I'm at about 850msl.

Yes they are part of the carb jetting and control the low speed circuit mixture. Stock jetting charts are typically on the rich side. A rich running engine at idle will tend to chatter, load up, and build carbon.

I have a pair of 50s. I'll have to check the chart and see if I can afford to let go of them or if someone can afford for me to let go of them.

Let me know.  If you decide to get rid of them PM me, if not I'll order a set full price.

If you had the dimensions I suppose you could turn out some on a small shopsmith lathe.

Interestingly, after spending $100 for new bushings and butterfly shaft from Bing for my BMW R1150GS Bing throttle bodies, I discovered a local machine shop who would have made them for 1/2 that price.
