PA-32 FATAL CRASH AT CUBA, MISSOURI

Sadly heard on news tonight about one of our local pilots who texted his wife that he was in turbulence - Soon afterward his plane was found with one wing about 1/4 mile away - Pilot and his dog who usually flew with him were both killed.  Just another reminder that weather can kill.

Any info wheather the wing departed prior to impact?

Witness (s?) reported seeing plane break apart  before falling - wing was 1/4 mile from wreck near Cuba airport.

He may have been trying for the airport there, about 2/3 of the way to St.Louis from Branson, Mo.

We have had scattered storms for past 3 days, large hail, one tornado, and expecting strong storms and monsoon rain rest of this week.  Duck and Cover, TJay!
