Does anybody know anything about putting latex paint on the fabric instead of the Poly fiber process? Joey you used this on your tail didn't you?

Bandit,

There have been articles written about painting your plane with a roller and latex paint, doing a manageable area and going over the paint with a foam brush to smooth it out. I have seen photos, but don't know any more than that.

Here's a site from a guy that did a workshop at Osh. My fuse and rudder is all that's left on my plane but after 6 years it still looks great.

Joey,

What process did you use for the tail painting? Did you brush, spray, sand, polish, wax?

Sounds like a lot of labor.

Much easier to spray water-thinned Stewarts paint using adequate breathing equipment, and you get a shiny finish, and repairs are simple.

I do not have any experience with the Latex process so I have to ask, How easy or difficult is it to repair? Just the way I think about stuff, I want to be able to fix my oops when they happen.

EAA has a good webinar on using latex paint. Look in the archives.
