I"ve seen them at Airventure.  A nice smooth running engine.

Still more expensive than a Rotax 912UL at $17.5k.  With no dealer or technical support in the USA…

Specs be here: http://www.d-motor.eu/nl/products-2.htm

Surprised to see someone building a flat head engine. But it is more compact even if the heat losses are higher, I guess we don't care about emissions, and it is a slow rev design...

Flipping through the manual, they recommend auto fuel - period - and a fully synthetic oil. Not so great for applications here in yea olde USA where there is leaded fuel at most airports.

You mean kinda like Rotax? An awful lot of folks are already schlepping in their own auto gas or using a lead scavenger with Avgas. Pretty much just the usual cost of fun if you're flying on the cheap, isn't it? Carrying around a few oz.'s of Decalin isn't all that tough.

I saw Doc Bailey the dealer in Florida about a year ago. He ran the motor for me and the 4 stroke is nice an smooth. HP is 93 at 3100 rpm and an installed weight of 125 lbs. Just saw they reduced the price to $15,900.
