Austin NV 2016

Last weekend was the annual Austin Fly-in hosted by Joe Pops Dory. Austin is 100 miles East of Fallon in the middle of nowhwhere on Hwy 50. I decided to drive this year so I could take all my toys with me and my nice camp set up and try to pay it forward to the guys who flew in after Doug took such good care of us at Osh. I brought a bunch of craft beer and enough food to feed an army. I bought a new lens for camera right before going and I'm still learning how to use it but I got some pretty decent shots I think.

Austin is really in the middle of nowhere

IFR...pretty much how HWY 50 looks for over 100 miles between Fallon and Austin

Trent's awesome KF 5 with a Zipper Kit and Airmaster prop. Not even in the same league as my airplane not even close

Hal Stockman and his S7 is the guy who does the 912 Zipper kit. Of course in true Hal style he flew every kid there.

Logans first ever airplane ride...and in an SQ2 with the doors open. What an experience for the little guy.

Where else can you see a Wilga and SQ2 in formation?

Nice pics Joey, looks like some fun stuff! Maybe there's a KF 4-1200 w/ 912ul in your future?

I wonder if the stars on that KF5 are paint job or Graphics?  Great photos Joey.   Glad you got a side view of that Wilga - They always looked like something ready to sting!   I thought all lakes in CA were dry now, except maybe Tahoe!

Oh, you said NV - I understand "dry"!  Ha!  I see the windmill for pumping water, and no trees!
