582 kill wire

I'm getting a shit ton of ignition noise when I transmit. I'm suspecting it's the ignition kill wires as they are non shielded and run right past all the radio wires on their way to the ignition switch. You guys with good radio transmission, what wire are you using on them, also what guage? Thanks, Bryce

I had ignition noise so bad it swamped any radio I tried. I solved it by wrapping my ignition boxes in copper mesh and my plug wires in mesh braiding. It worked like a champ, and took about an hour. Here is the thread that discusses it, with photos:  http://www.avidfoxflyers.com/index.php?/topic/3636-noisy-radio-emi-fix/

20-22 gauge grounded at the switch end only and while you are at it you may want to change the route away from any radio related wires.
