Oil Cooler Flap Install

I know this oil cooler install is a bit different than the typical Avid or KF install but maybe it will provide some ideas for the fabricators. My oil cooler is set into a box mount on the side of the lower cowl, angled slightly forward and fed by a dedicated NACA duct. The flap kit, which in my case had to be purchased from the SLSA manufacturer, is a pretty simple affair and works great. Pics show the details.

Looks like a easy and simple thing to make. I could even powder coat them

Super easy to make, quicker and much less complicated than some of the shutter style flap arrangements I've seen. Only downside with this setup is I have to disconnect the quick clip from the flap horn when I pull the lower cowl. Not that big a deal really, I already have to do that for the carb heat box on the other side. I like having the oil cooler and cheek radiators under cowl, makes for a nice clean underbelly if you go on floats.
