Ever wonder how big a DC-10 is?

A buddy grabbed this shot yesterday. That is just one flap panel on the 165ft wing behind me. Standing atop a 47" tire. As the engineer I do all of the preflight duties including a 1/2 mile walk around just like we do on our Avid's. Love my job! For the newer guys I switched over from the C-5 Galaxy to the DC-10 2 years ago.

Looking good. I loved my part-time job when. I owned (oops) crew chiefed RF4Cs with the Nevada Airguard. Worked F111s in the Air force back in the 70s. Had the same smile on my face. Amazing, Kitfoxs, RF4s, C130s, all put the same smile on your face when you own them.

I'm retired now but flew 747 cargo birds for many years. Many of my engineers were C5 guys.  I miss the flying part and my shipmates but I don't miss all the other BS associated with airline flying.

Glad you love your job.  We're all happy you're on the job for us.

Which is older, your Avid or your day job ride?

This jet is an 87. My Avid first flew in 1992. This jet has 30,000+ hrs on it though!
