Looking at a speed wing, are they a bad short field performer?

IMO,  None of them are "bad" - extended speed wing is better than short wing, STOL and HH may be a little better than ext. speedwing, and Kitfox has longer wings.  Look at "Some Avid Specs" I posted in Files and Forms section.   EDMO

I have a true speed wing and short field is no problem . I have a couple youtube videos showing take off solo and with a passenger. It gets off the ground in a hurry

I have a short speedwing and I have no problem getting in and out of short grass strips and when im solo i climb at nearly 1200 fpm indicated

Whats the actual indicated speed on your stoolwing?

 

The specifikation said 90 mph on stoolwing and 115 on speedwing. My stoolwing cruises only 65 mph and vne is 90 mph on my airspeed indicator.
