18.4 hrs airborne in a 24hr period

Yesterday I saw the sun come up, go down, come up, and go down again all on one shift. 18.4 hrs total out of our 24 hr max Crew duty day was in the sky. Little over 8500nm covered and over 300,000lbs of fuel burned. I’m in the sandbox again for a while so please be patient if you send me a message. Gotta love bunk beds separated by shower curtains with a 3x5 chunk of real estate to call Home. Could def be worse but I’ll be looking forward to the trip home to see my family.

How long are you deployed this time Joey, or can you say?

At least you're not on a submarine with the same or less living space.  You get to see the sky!

Last picture gave me a flashback of my last hospital stay. I was separated by a shower curtain from a crazy old man yelling all the time .

Joey,  Thank you for doing a great job for the Country.  Looking at your bunking,  I remember sleeping in the open on a mountain and waking up under a foot of snow - wild boar stepped on me one night - 4 1/2 days in a too-small-troopship bow bunk in storms in North Atlantic - Others had it worse - jungles of Nam, sand fleas in Iraq, etc.  We all had our complaints, but some had it worse than others - Be thankful you are in the Air Force - same long hours, but good food and clean bunks.  Keeping you and all there in our prayers.  EDMO

Joey. If you need anything at all, let me know. I was in the sandbox for Desert Storm working RF4s. Then in Oman in 2000 working C130s. Care packages all ways made my day. Anything at all.

Rick
