Anybody have the cylinder alignment bars for the 582 for sale or maybe rent or something?

I would say you already have one.  Called the exhaust manifold.  Snug up the cylinders to the crankcase, then snug up the manifold, loosen the cylinders just a tiny bit, tighten the manifold, retighten the cylinders, reloosen the manifold, then re tighten it, and you should be good to go,.  You have to have the cylinders  line up the with the exhaust manifold when it's all over, and  this will get you there.  JImChuk

Agree with 1avidflyer.

I attached the exhaust Y manifold without gaskets prior to torquing the cylinders down to establish cylinder orientation.

Ghetto but worked great on all of my 582 tear downs.

Works on a 912 also, only you use the intake manifold.

I can’t speak for the 582 but the exhaust manifold trick work great on 503s!
