I cant figure if the guy was trying to land or take off.

Taking off.  He would have made it if he would have left the nose on the ground a bit more and pulled up at the last minute instead of trying to drag it into the air that entire distance.

Looks like the guy was ejected out the left side. Didn't know Zeniths had ejection seats.
