Wing tank for Avid MK4

HI

I've got an Avid Flyer MK4 STOL with one leaking wing tank and the other seams to be quite "dirty". I guess the former owner used some ethanol gas ...

I tryed to contact the new Avid Aircraft or wingtanks.com without any answer.

Do someone knows where I could find new wing tanks ?

I wonder if I shouldn't build new aluminium tanks (the old one are in fiberglass of course). Do someone did already that ? Do someone have drawings with quotes to build tanks either in fiber or in aluminium ?

Aluminum tanks were tried in both Avids, and Kitfoxes.  The flexing of the wings would often  eventually cause them to leak.  I think there is a guy in Idaho who can make the tanks.  Maybe do a search in the archives here.  I know it's been talked about a year or two ago.  Have you thought about trying to seal them?  I've used KBS coatings before.  If the sealing would work, it would be much easier, and cheaper than changing out the old tanks.  JImChuk
