Anyone have plan and section drawings for wing tanks , so that i can fabricate in aluminium. My wing tanks are fibre glass and in a bad state , one of them has a leak and the condition of the other is not good.

Your limited to 6 gallons with aluminum. Flexing happens with the bigger ones.

Just made an Aluminum tank for my Merlin GT - I used a bead roller to to make 4 ribs on the top/bottom skins and put in a baffle - way - way - way stiffer than the originals even though I went from 8 1/2 to 12 1/2 gallons. The skins had to be forced to sit flat for welding, but...

I made my own patterns based on the old tank and wing root profile (but won't work for an Avid)

Have you looked into tank sealing?

for eg: https://www.caswellplating.com/epoxy-gas-tank-sealer.html  There are other processes.

I would think with the wings removed and on a spit, this could be accomplished and with a minimum of construction hassles.

Stephen, PM me your address.  I'll send you a tracing of the Avid aluminum tank I have (6 gallon).

I have full sized aluminium wing tank and all the cad drawings to go with it as we had to get it approved in the UK and it's been in my avid for many years now without any leaks

Ethanol softens the resin. No issues with 100LL.
