Mr. Myers

Well in the blink of an eye my 6300 Flight  hrs, 284 combat sorties, 1600 days overseas, 20 year Air Force career is over. My “retirement” was last Saturday and I started my new job as a Service Technician with Airstream on Monday. I wanted to get out of management and back into a technical role. Huge learning curve as expected but so far I’m loving the challenge. Airstreams are amazing machines with s long lineage to Aviation. We are the biggest dealership in the nation and stay plenty busy. I wanted to get into Aviation full time but I just can’t justify being away from home and asking my wife to keep sacrificing while I chase a dream on entry level commercial pilot wages. I’d rather fly for fun and work my 8 hrs for good wages and be home every night.

You won't regret being home every night. I used to work all over the United States and it sucks not being home. I'm sure you know plenty about being away so why not just work a regular job and have that family time . It's all about the kids for me and every minute I can have with them is worth it.
