Landing gear bungee / shock cord

It seems that the shock cord used for her landing gear shows signs of age. Just looking it, tt seems to be just

long cord of bungee wrapped around.

Do you use ready made shock rings (e.g. from Spruce) or just buy bungee cord somewhere?

If ready made rings, what size would fit best?

You just buy it in a long length, safety wire the end loops. Somebody on here can tell for certain but I think it is 13 inches per wrap and 7 to 8 wraps.

Old post but I did my plane when I got it . Get a good strong bungee that is bought by the foot . There is a fellow with a YouTube channel showing how to do it the easy and correct way . It's actually really easy and I plan on doing it every couple years to stay safe .
