Aluminum vs stock belly radiator

I’m revamping my B model Avid this winter while I continue to fly my new MK4. Got the motor rehung on Sunday after replacing the stator. I also replaced my RV lines and pulse line while at it. Working on cowl mods and swapping my belly radiator out for an aluminum one. It weighed 2.75 lbs vs 5.16 lbs for my old haggard one. Nothing too exciting but making progress.

Will be interesting to see if it cools as well as the slightly larger copper one.  Let us know once you are able to fly it.  Also, where did you get the new one from?  JImChuk

I got it from Murle Williams Aviation. It’s the same surface area as the stock one. Typically aluminum is more efficient. If it doesn’t I will be bummed. Was $325!

nice to see some progress there. Murle Williams Aviation has some decent items i would guess you'll be ok.

Is that belly radiator the only one you run? Or do you have cheeks as well?

I used to run it in parallel  with my stock B model side scoop cowling. Removed the scoop and dropped it down an inch.

Very cool, seems as though the cooling requirements weren’t nearly as robust as I anticipated, stock 582?
