For those who cant watch the whole thing, there are many lessons to be learned by the video. The guys who disassembled the engine and investigated are really sharp and scientific.

As I saw it: The 582 engine quit on takeoff and a less than stellar landing back on the runway caused major airframe damage. Cause was horribly simple, major piston damage, the water was very low in the cooling system, because the overfill bucket was plumbed incorrectly, and its water level didn't actually indicate anything. And clearly the crew didn't open the radiator cap and look inside in a very long time. The crew's attention to the water temp is also in question, the timing of the start takeoff sequence makes it unlikely that a 582 would be up to temp in the few minutes from start to full throttle.
